I originally qualified as a social worker.  As part of my social work training I completed a one year counselling placement.  For many years I combined social work and counselling, as well as supervising and training, working both in the statutory and voluntary sectors.  In 1998 I completed a further 2 years' Diploma in counselling gaining my accreditation as a counsellor in 1999 and my accreditation as a supervisor for individuals in 2004 - both with BACP - and as a COSCA counselling skills trainer with COSCA in 2005.

I am not too sure when I first came across EFT.  However, I was somewhat sceptical, but started to use EFT on myself.  I then took an opportunity to do my level one training with Forthvalley Health Board, where I learnt to use EFT as part of what I could offer clients who came to see me for counselling.  I was amazed at how used well, EFT enhanced the counselling process and at times enabled clients to move to where they wanted to go quite quickly.  This led me to seek further EFT training, finally gaining my Advanced Practitioner Certificate in 2008.

I currently work mainly in private practice.  I work with a very wide range of people and issues.  Many clients come to me via their work, through their company's employee assist programme.  Others seek me out privately.  I supervise counsellors and people using counsellling skills, and am a trainer.  I work with individuals, couples, groups, and peopel of most ages - normally 12+.  Wherever possible and appropriate, I introduce and use EFT.  I continue to be amazed time and agian at what EFT achieves.

I strongly beleive that the relationship between you the client, and me the therapis, is at the heart of any work we may do together.  I strive to be open and honest and work in a collaborative manner with no hidden agendas.  I strive to offer a warm, welcoming relationship in which you can feel heard and safe enough to explore and work on whatever it is that is causing you distress.

I am committed to making both counselling and EFT as readily available as possible so offer a sliding fee scale of £40 - £60 for a 50 minute session.  Please feel warmly welcome to pay what you feel you can comfortably afford with this scale.
